Helicopter video surveillance

SPIDERCOPTER CONDUCTED THE VERY FIRST AERIAL VIDEO SURVEILLANCE FROM A HELICOPTER

TV Anchor: A volunteer organization, founded by Ivan Kristoff, is working on a pilot project for aerial video monitoring from a helicopter. If the City of Sofia Municipality is happy with the results, it is possible in the near future to have an aerial emergency response provided by helicopter, which will assist the capital of Bulgaria in crisis situations.

Reporter Aliosha Shalamanov: Ivan Kristoff, aka Spiderman, has initiated and committed to the development of this project. The wireless video monitoring from the air, will provide online contact between the emergency services and rescue teams. The helicopter will be equipped with remote camera control photo and video equipment. The visual materials can be used to train rescue teams in an innovative training program, called trailblazing.

Ivan Kristoff: Trail-blazing in this case means to do something that no-one has done before, especially something which will be important for other people. In my case, it is a specialized training for my volunteer rescue organization, in which members of our teams will be introduced to visual presentations of situations where they have no experience, but they have to be trained to work in such conditions. They will learn in innovative way how to deal with crisis situations during rescue missions.

This is a condition (Deja vu), as the French call it, in which you have not been, but when it is projected to you on the screen during a training session, you will comprehend much better the situation presented in front of you. If you are the trainee, you will fill much more familiar with the surrounding area of such situation and when later you are in real life scenario, you react instead of the conventional way of analyzing the situation and reacting. Thanks to the trailblazing training, the brain will take the time to work with the captured video experience of a rescue training session, and later on in a familiar situation, it will be recognized as a true life experience. That is how I would like to implement this innovative training methodology for Search and Rescue technicians.\

These rescuers will be prepared and unconsciously trained for such scenarios. So, in a critical situation, they will not waste time in thinking, or be shocked by the “element of surprise”, or get scared of the unknown.

Reporter: The aerial video surveillance, (proposed by Ivan Kristoff), in not expensive, but lacks the political will to implement it in the country thinks Ivan. Therefore, he will present the results from this “Big Brother” surveillance above Sofia to the Municipality of the City. If the Mayor is happy with the results, soon above Sofia will be in force a constant aerial monitoring, which will give a more efficient and faster reaction during crisis and emergency situations.
